Some months ago, the bare areas of the field were flooded, and the seeds rotted. Since then we have had little rain, the soil is cracked and growth is stunted. One field that last year produced 90 bales, has 25 this, and most are down at least 50%. Food doesn’t grow on shelves.

On the VE Day March Past, the Ukrainian Soldiers, to the cheers of the huge crowds as they marched down the Mall, return the salute of King Charles.

Before the service, I walked down the Churchyard footpath, stopping where it passed by the side of the field, and took this video. Spring is definitely emerging.

After WW2 Maynard Keynes went to the US & was told that the UK had to pay off all war debts to the US or face trade sanctions & economic war. We finally finished paying debts off in the 60s, having handed over the UK’s businesses to the US. Keynes was broken & died shortly after.

words I never imagined writing in my lifetime.....

General Sir Richard Shirreff, the former Nato deputy supreme allied commander in Europe, has told Times Radio:

"I think we have to assume, after the events of the last 10 days, that we cannot in any way count on America as an ally"

I live and operate in a farming area, and this is ringing a death knell for them.
🚨 Forcing British farms into closure by making food production unviable is ensuring more imported food from other side of the world. Much of it is produced using methods which are illegal here too.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

This weather is a worry.

Yes it is

Is it really climate change?

Yes it is

If only we had known about it!

Yes we did

Really?

Yes we did

But there wasn’t enough time to act.

Yes there was

Really? How much time?

200 years

Really?

Yes, really.

President Musk hates any that oppose his lies and deceit. Fortunately in the UK we have genuine politicians that can correct him and those that hang on his every word.

The Woman Who Demonstrated the Greenhouse Effect
Eunice Newton Foote showed that carbon dioxide traps the heat of the sun in 1856, beating the so-called father of the greenhouse effect by at least three years. Why was she forgotten?

The six stages of climate denial are: It’s not real. It’s not us. It’s not that bad. It’s too expensive to fix. Aha, here’s a great solution (that actually does nothing). And — oh no! Now it’s too late. You really should have warned us earlier.

I wish I’d had @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com advice when I was in my twenties and thirties. He’s the fairy godfather of common sense that my old “shop till you drop” impulses needed back then.
Stay calm today. Use a list, don’t let them tweak your impulse spending nipples. Buy what you need and want not what they want you to buy. My annual Black Friday warning…
