The totals for 2025 ended a bit higher than I’d like.
Additions: 62
Removals: 41
Net increase: 21 games.
Collection hovering around 200 including expansions (and preorders not here yet), which is probably too much for me.

2026 goals: limit purchases. Play owned games. Consider further culls.

And some War of the Ring.
So good.
Middle-earth was saved.

As 2025 comes to an end. My year in board games.
Happy New Year.

Went through my owned games. Have some I’ve never played even though I owned for, in one case, 2.5 years. Also others that haven’t been played since 2018.

2026 goal: play my games.

Devlin house tradition.
Missing the strawberry nose / bows because elder gremlin ate them all.

Running through the Boardgame numbers and it looks like 35 games sold/given away vs 52 games added (assuming no further adds - not expecting any).
Oof.
Too big a swing up. Gotta be pickier next year.

First game of Tak on the board I made. Squares a little small, but it works.

Getting to end of the year. Before we visit my revised Top 50 boardgames, let’s talk about the ones that fell off the list.

Bohnanza (was 50)
There’s not a whole lot to say. I still love this game, and a lot of the top 100 are based on my whims at the time.
This is still a top tier trading game.

October plays. Another light month.
November 1, 2025 at 12:28 PM
Probably needs some touch up still, but, Tak board.
October 31, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Bought a cheap box to turn into a Tak board. It’s designed. Need to see how the paint pens come out before deciding how minimal the line work will be.

“This is the year someone announces a Tigris & Euphrates reprint.” - me, every year.

A few games with younger gremlin. She won at The Rose King. Jerk. I mean, yay!

“We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”

September was busy. So few boardgame plays.

2 projects backed this week. If everyone can stop making new games for a few months that’d be great.

Saw someone post some gameplay of Toy Battle (I don’t remember who, sorry). Looked neat, so I tried it on BGA. Definitely a fun little game. Of course it’s sold out everywhere.
