oh you're playing rise Greatsword that explains a lot. In Sunbreak the classic playstyle is not viable and you have to play strongarm TCS or bust. Absolutely hate that iteration of the weapon super boring and the hit feedback is ass too in that game. pick a different game for GS imo it sucks here

There are times where you need to roll twice before you have a safe sheathing opportunity, and there are times the attack right after the punish is dodgable into another punish but generally you see the gameplan is punish > sheathe

Movement is sluggish? Are you walking around with the weapon unsheathed? the trick to GS is that you should NOT do that and should always roll > sheathe after your attack is done. The sheathe animation is rlly fast for this weapon for a reason and your draw attack is fast and chargeable.

pathologic 1 is def a quicksave/load spam game, pathologic 2 a bit less so cuz limited saving locations and permanent consequences to death, but you can still savescum if willing to repeat content between saves. P3 on the other hand rewinding the day to explore the possibilities is the whole premise

The survival elements are gone and its a lot more of an adventure game/visual novel this time. You'd think this would upset me as someone who really liked that aspect of P2 but I think their commitment to making the gameplay mirror the themes and worldview of the characters is even more commendable

The Bachelor is defined by his academic worldview, his perfectionism, compartmentalizing the entire town as numbers on a paper. The game is about applying the scientific method to the plague, experimenting with your actions, rewinding and trying something else when the outcomes prove unsatisfactory.

Been playing Pathologic 3. I was wondering why they would make a 3 instead of releasing the Bachelor as DLC but they definitely earned the number with the way they rethought the entire gameplay concept to fit the worldview of the Bachelor. Where P2 discourages savescumming, this game canonizes it.

the animation work is really on another level but yet another character loses his charge specials and unique playstyle from before in place of something flashier but more standard... i will still take him to High Master to give the new moveset a shake but I'm definitely disappointed by the concept

Playing RE4 on Pro with the HD mod. First time I played it was on mouse and keyboard, now I am correcting that mistake. Game is still overall pretty easy but without mouseaim its actually possible to feel overwhelmed by enemies when you cant flick shot them on reaction to any threatening movement

he is immune to elements...but are you using elemental phials? you could use impact phials and its just flat damage, no elemental resistances against that, but maybe thats not enough damage if its G rank Valstrax?

i definitely prefer RE9s two games in one approach over the other examples here that try to do both with the same set of mechanics which is just cooked. Still isnt ideal, never will be compared to making a game that commits to being action or horror and does it well

in Rise or GU? feel like its a decent matchup either way cuz of how big the openings are for AED, in GU though you will need to depend on moving in axe mode more and in Rise its just about guard pointing the last hit of wingslam combo for punishes
