I have given up on eating out. Too expensive, and not very tasty for the prices paid. After 34 years of marriage, my husband (primary cook for the 2 of us) has finally convinced me to love home eating. Still expensive, but better taste and quality control. Also $$ go further.
As the mother of a soldier sent to Iraq 4 times, I believe that a special hell exists for Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. Special. Hell.

Thomas Paine,1776:
"..[S]ome Massanello∗ may hereafter arise, who, laying hold of popular disquietudes, may collect together the desperate and the discontented, and by assuming to themselves the powers of government, finally sweep away the liberties of the Continent like a deluge. (Common Sense)
An oiled blade that falls 10 feet in 3/4 of a second. Extremely efficient. Cuts right through that line of the condemned. Just saying, for no particular reason. . .
Green pepper is the deal-breaker for me. What fresh hell is this where gp is included in chili?
I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue.
And, as for racial numbers, "White, Not Hispanic" are 35.4% of total participation in the program, the highest percentage of any group. Let that sink in for a minute. So much for White MAGA screaming,"[Other race] welfare queens!*

How tragic is it that we are finally seeing cracks as those who didn’t care if their neighbors were brutalized, are now they are learning that it can happen to them as well.

It’s the collateral damage that is so heartbreaking.
I wish that America was a country who cared when grandmothers were dragged out of their cars, families terrorized, people put into camps, books burned, hundreds of thousands fired from their jobs, boats blown out of the water and pockets lined.
But we are not. We don’t care until it happens to us.
Marble was actually quarried in the US as early as the 18th century, but principally used in architecture and statuary. If indoor bathrooms of the time had any hard surfaces, those surfaces were (usually) ceramic tile and porcelain.
Predominantly German by that point, primarily through the Hanover and Saxe-Coburg-Gotha families. The late QE II could trace her ancestry back to James I, who (wait for it) was Scottish!
Not enough chlorine in the gene pool.
Hence, their insistence that Charles marry Lady Diana Spencer, whose bloodlines went all the way back to the Plantagenets. An infusion of "Old Blood." Several people have observed that Diana had more British royal blood than Charles' entire family!
Oddly enough, Mountbatten, his father, and his brother were titled as Princes of Battenberg until George V issued the Letters Patent of 1917 and styled as "Serene Highnesses" until that time. "Mountbatten" is the Anglicized form of "Battenberg."
Vance is the kind of person upon whom Jesus flipped tables at the Temple.

George C. Scott's General Buck Turgidson in the final War Room scene, ending a covert conversation with his paramour, as the Russian missiles streak ever closer: "Shug, don't forget to say your prayers."
Here lies what's left of Lenni Lyte
From her mortal coil now free
For what she thought was H20
Instead was H2SO3
Dang! I wrote something very similar to that when I was 12. Yours brought back that memory. Can you tell that I was learning about chemical compounds at the time?🤣🤣🤣

Seeing two inflatable frogs enthusiastically participating in Latin dancing was a lift to the spirits that I didn't know that I needed!
