The larger point is that none of it has to do with the military or their use on domestic soil. This is unprecedented since the Civil War, or maybe the post WWI "Bonus Riots". The military failed to respect civilians and uphold their oaths in those cases too. Such treachery by the military is not new

Also, DHS and ICE have nothing to do with, and are not under the jurisdiction, of Posse Comitatus. No power given to them can be transferred to the military using the PA as a legal justification.

They haven't "gotten around" Posse Comitatus with the PA or anything else. It's still in court and they haven't even invoked the Patriot Act. That act is limited in scope to foreign terr. orgs and in duration. It doesn't allow the arbitrary use of the military, esp. for domestic law enforcement.

No, it's not. The arguments they'll make in court have nothing to do with any provisions of the Patriot Act. The PA doesn't allow for arbitrary violations of the PCA. The regime knows it. Otherwise, they wouldn't bother waiting for court opinions and none would be needed. The PA is more restrictive.

Could be. I gave up counting restitution orders at 400M or so. Santos is small potatoes and everyone ignores the major fraudsters he's set free. Now, it's the Binance guy. Too bad for Albert Ponzi, Bernie Madoff and Jeff Epstein that they couldn't stick around long enough to pay trump for pardons.

There's a huge diff btwn extrajudicial killings of legally declared foreign enemies on foreign soil and the blatant violations of Posse Comitatus and the Praetorian Guard military and ICE that trump has planned. Your "fair" sounds a lot like false equivalencies and bothsideisms to me.

About 12 yrs ago, A dear friend who owned a motel offered to move me illegally to Norway to manage some uber-rich guy's yacht. I passed, but I've kicked myself in the ass every day since Jan '17 over it. I'd rather be an illegal worker in Norway than a native born American retiree here. Any day.

Up until a month or so ago, I had trust that the Navy wouldn't allow itself to be transformed into international terrorists and murderers by the likes of trump. That didn't work out too well. Trump's a velociraptor testing the fences. That fence broke. So will subsequent fences.

Not anymore it isn't. No army is necessary. He has a Praetorian Guard and private surveillance agents like Palantir now, if you haven't noticed. Beyond that, anyone who thinks the military will refuse and revolt when told to strafe even the most mildly rowdy protestors is a gullible, deluded fool.

I'm in no way discouraging voting. But I'm a realist. It's not a matter of labels. It's a matter of stupid people. R's know how to do this with "near surgical accuracy". They can turn a 60% D voter majority into a 12-2 minority in congress. And that's WITHOUT cheating, intimidation and suppression.

Luckily, the only magats in my family are one niece and possibly an informally estranged sister who I'm afraid to even talk to out of fear she's a magat too. I did skip my 50th HS reunion out of fear that they'll be magats. I'd rather remember them like they were in the 70s before Reagan f'd us.

There's also the issue of squandered opportunity for intelligence on who/what/where drugs are coming from. But trump never had an encounter with intelligence, so that's no shock. Some of those boats were clearly empty. None could have made it here. Smuggling is not a crime punishable by death.

The legal costs of his frivilous and vexatious litigation, and all the judgements to victims of his illegality and abuse, would by themselves eat up his entire fortune. He should also pay all victim restitution owed by all the fraudsters he's pardoned. That'll be in the hundreds of millions alone.

The platform should be to methodically undo, day by day, everything he did. Fire every employee he hired. Repeal every EO and law. Raze every monstrosity he built. Sell it off in chunks like the Berlin Wall to defray the cost of rebuilding the WH. We should fundraise now so taxes can't be an excuse
