What a stupid decision by the AFL Commission.
The solution was always in front of you - simply call "play on" if the bounce went askew.
But no, you've binned it because "umpires can focus their energy", "safety", "umpire contact"
Another part of our game that was unique, is gone.

I had assumed that the club's first guernsey in 1885 were made where the Grill'd Restaurant is now on Swan Street. I was wrong.
The deep dive into March 1885 reveals the true answer.
