Hard to believe it has been exactly eleven years since I went to Ireland for the launch of THE YOUNG DICTATOR, and I still haven't written the sequel to that novel... But I will one day. I even know what its title will be: AGAINST THE GRAN 🙂 #booksky

I am free to start on my first full-length play. I've had the idea for this in my mind for years. The play is a duel between Logic and various kinds of illogical monster. I must take care it doesn't turn into a lecture on philosophy but remains an eventful comedy. Anyway, the process has begun :-)

Two of my plays are going to be performed in Volcano Theatre @volcanotheatre.bsky.social in Swansea on Saturday.

Library sales are the cheapest places to buy books. I picked this volume up for 20p last week. It's a compendium of Karel Čapek's work, featuring plays, short stories, essays, etc. Čapek is great. WAR WITH THE NEWTS might be the best science fiction novel published in the 1930s. #booksky

Finished writing my new novel, THE INSIDE OUT STORY.

I think it manages to do what I wanted, which is to dredge for subconscious archetypes and images that resonate on a deep mental level.

I would dearly like to go fifteen rounds in a boxing ring with Nigel Farage. I am 58 years old, not as fit as I was, not as strong. Nonetheless, I would hugely appreciate the chance to go fifteen rounds with that squirming gammon fascist just to give him a practical notion of what I think of him.

Began reading this last night. Three authors alloted one third of the book each. Alasdair Gray is one of my favourite writers. I know almost nothing about Agnes Owens and James Kelman, but the Kelman selection so far has been excellent, reminding me somewhat of Beckett ☺️ #booksky

I have always voted Labour. I won't vote Labour next time -- unless they admit that they have been complicit in genocide, and take appropriate moral action to attempt to undo at least some of the immense damage they have done by supporting a rogue state that murders children.
