tenzin and bumi's character bios only mention aang being their father and don't mention katara at all bc she's irrelevant to their backgrounds. funny how all of them have their dad identified in their descriptions, but only the waterbending ones gets her mom identified!

lol i remember when they were gushing over some line that said "master katara and her husband, avatar aang" but that was specifically in kya's bio in the ttrpg book. she's a waterbender so of course they list her waterbender mother first.

i think aang being bald and having arrows all over his body is why some of the jp audiences are calling him "scary" too. they question why he's a mix of a buddhist monk and a yakuza.

the show received a really terrible japanese dub and was cancelled before book 2 finished airing there. nick released the first two seasons and a dub of book 3 with a new cast years later on amazon japan.

lol most of the ugly accusations are aimed at aang. they're saying he looks like a monkey, a rip-off of krillin, and that it's weird that he's a bald monk that has stupid arrow tattoos.

reading japanese reactions to atla is hilarious. the show flopped over there because it was cultural uncanny valley and they thought the characters were ugly (especially aang).

i can see paramount not wanting natla watchers to spoil themselves on what might happen in natla s3 by watching the movie first because it could cause the potential ratings for natla s3 to drop. they might wait for all seasons of natla to get put on streaming first.

yeah the aang movie should have been put on streaming whereas something like kpdh should have been theatrical. i wonder if the delay is also because of natla still being an ongoing work and they're aiming for an early 2026 release date for s2. the aang movie coming out would confuse natla-onlys.

yeah and she blushes at haru's compliment, so her blushing around aang doesn't mean much. that's probably why bryke had to have her randomly state she didn't have a thing for haru because fans might speculate she has a crush on him.

i wonder if its gonna flop and force avatar studios to close. they are putting so much effort into making it but it has barely any marketing. they hired two directors, have two studios working on it, are using deep canvas tech, and it's from an i.p. with mid global popularity

why the hell does it say on imdb that it's gonna come out on 28 jan 2026 in egypt? either the dates are wrong or paramount are so mismanaged that the movie is gonna come out in egypt months before it premieres in the us. pushing for a theatrical release was a mistake.

other issues include the movie being a sequel to atla, which is a 20+ year old children's cartoon that was never successful in countries with some of the largest box office markets. there's no set release date for china at all.
