A marigold. It almost seems to glow. #photography #bloomscrolling
A photograph of an orange marigold flower viewed face on against a dark background. The orange petals shade to yellow at the centre of the flower and almost seem to glow.

I was 6 hours into a 20 hour 3D print when the power went off. When the power came back on, the printer asked me if I wanted to resume ... but then tried to restart the print from scratch anyway. Ah well, back to square one. I guess it's risky to start it again while this storm is still hitting.

Disaster. Storm Amy has killed the power just as I was about to make a cup of tea. She could have waited a few minutes.

A recent vista from Mars obtained by the Perseverance Rover on its 1635th Martian day, or 'Sol', Clouds far above the eternal dust pall are unusually well shown in this afternoon view. This is a mosaic of two wide angle color Navcam images.
This mosaic of two wide angle photos from the Perseverance rover shows the Martian surface stretching into the distance beyond two foreground hills. The rover tracks can just be seen winding into the distance. In this view clouds are unusually well defined as they float well above the tan dust that eternally colors the Martian skies.
In the original photos the area near the Sun is 'burned out' by the limitations of the camera sensor. I have addressed this by manually painting over the overexposed areas to reconstruct something of the brightness contours as they probably would have appeared to a human observer. I have also 'warped' the lower corners to fill the rectangular format. Artist's prerogative :-)

Hate to do this but I only had two orders this month and I'm overdrawn so if you could boost or check out my shop that'd be a great help! thanks anaisfae.art/shop/

Tanya Donnelly of Belly on stage tonight in Leeds. It was such a fantastic gig. 😊 #LiveMusic
A photo of Tanya Donnelly on stage playing a single pickup Gibson SG guitar. She’s singing and the stage is bathed in magenta light.

I’m at the venue to see Belly! #livemusic
A view of an empty stage. The band logo for Belly can be seen at the back, bathed in blue light.

I’m not sure what plant this is. It looked like spiny empty seed cases at the time. This quirky film makes it look quite abstract, I think.

A photograph showing a tangle of spiny seed heads surrounded by grass. The film gives the whole scene a blueish colour.

Christ Church in Harrogate. This quirky film from Lomography gives it an interesting look. I like the effect.

A photograph of a square towered church with trees around it and cars parked in front. The Lomography Turquoise film has given the sky a metallic orange tint, and the leaves on the trees have a turquoise/green look to them.

I’ve received my order from @gailmyerscough.co.uk - a new slipmat for my record player. I love the swirly pattern.

I was sad to see the fate of this old horse chestnut tree. It had an impressively wide canopy, now lost it seems. Here are the remains alongside one of its last conkers, resting in the sawdust from its parent tree. #photography #diptych
A diptych of two photos. On the left a severely sawn back tree. On the right a solitary conker from the same tree, lying on the ground.

Took the new (to me) Lensbaby Velvet 85 lens that I repaired this morning out for a spin. I think I like it. The macro mode works well, and so far the aperture dial is still working. #photography

That bracket still feels a little loose, so the same problem might recur but I’ll see how it goes. It is a metal bracket, so I suspect it is held by a screw at the bottom. But I’d really have to take the lens apart to get to that.
richard0x4a.bsky.social
I bought a faulty Lensbaby Velvet 85 lens to see if I could repair it. The aperture was stuck open. It turns out that the lever you can see in the left picture had popped out of its bracket. I managed to get it back in and the lens works fine now. 👍🏻
Two photos of the inside of a camera lens. On the left you can see a metal arm pointing down inside the lens, next to a metal bracket with a bit a grease visible on the bracket. On the right you can see the same metal arm now seated inside the bracket, where it is supposed to be.
