it's that time of the year! 2025 ver
the first half was fine... second half was rough for few reasons beyond my control that affected how i view my own art.
most looked ok, but generally i wasn't too happy with almost all results. I had even more MERCH WIP that i couldn't finish. (1/2)

listen my advice for learning to make comics is will. always be: try. it won't be good. don't expect it to be. that's not why you're doing it. I don't care if you wanna do art or scripts or editing or colors or lettering or what. just try it. you'll be BLOWN AWAY at what just TRYING it teaches you

adding on to this because I’ve seen lots of posts trying to push and glamorize tabling at events as the next Hustle/Business thing but yeah don’t do it unless you mentally prep yourself to potentially make a loss.

Don’t know who needs to hear this but stop quitting your job to do artist alley and conventions, there are no benefits or health insurance and it is so unpredictable and the competition is worse than trying to get into Harvard lol

for your health: artist monika zagrobelna has a big blog archive of tutorials on animal anatomy, some of them are even about animals in motion (horses running, wings flapping, etc). really an invaluable resource even if yr not drawing quadrupeds/realism
