Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

Having grown up in Nashville, now every time I hear a modern bro-country song I begin taking extensive poison damage.

Last night I watched the Drumeo video of Aric Improta playing drums to this song for the first time and it’s been stuck in my head all day.

Heard about this scotch for years and always wanted to try it. Found a bottle for seventeen dollars and said fuck it.

Earlier this week I bought a bottle of truffle oil on a whim. Last night we threw some of that on some linguine and meatballs and holy FUCKing shit, dude.

I’m almost done with this collection and I wish more of Dino Buzzati’s short stories were available in translation, because he really excels at packing a lot into a handful of pages. I have his novel THE SINGULARITY on deck to hold me over, though, and I’m very excited about it.
Last night I started reading a collection of Dino Buzzati short stories (THE BEWITCHED BOURGEOIS). I’m only four pieces in so far but, man, I really dig his writing.

For our Christmas cards this year, I wrote a joke family newsletter about myself and my girlfriend. So far everyone has loved the update about our cat (indicted on federal racketeering charges).

Man, if you’re out here arguing that a fucking *font* is woke, your brain has already experienced the equivalent of being powerbombed thru a flaming table.

Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass
omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

Tekken is my all-time favorite game. I’ve played every version since I was six years old, and Harada-san’s name is basically synonymous with the franchise at this point. This is the fighting game equivalent of losing Shiguru Miyamoto, and it will be interesting to see where Tekken goes without him.
