What an adventure! 3 of TP! (not yet formed) 260 miles to sold out gig, in back door during soundcheck. Ended up back/in front of/on the stage! That night opened our eyes! RIP AR

I can't remember them. We were fixated on The Smiths and probably were wishing the support bands would hurry up and get off! 😂

I was at The Smiths gig. Felt played instead of Red Skins.
Oh yes! Here's my ticket and pics I took. They were something else live!!
£2!! Pints probably a scandalous £1, as well. Expensive night out! 😂
Still there. I used to walk past it every day on my way to work. I'd love to see the flyer if you had a chance to post it.
Remember it well. We supported. Mirrors everywhere.
Yep. Played there twice. Went down a storm, probably cause not much ever happens in Arbroath. The other gig on that tape was Blairgowrie, another small town where zero happens.
Flyer and ticket from one of the Arbroath gigs.
Here's the track list. The guy who made it for me was a real hardcore punk rocker and the last person you'd think would like Hawkwind, but he was partial to the odd magic mushroom which might account for his love for them.
I'll see what I can do. You want a copy of the Hawkwind tape too? It's a cracker!! 🤟
If I said the barber's name was Andy (nickname Big Salv), any more believable?
Some excellent ones, but as I explained to @dustysevens.bsky.social ,the Hawkwind tape isn't really mine. Honest! 😉
The boy Gedge still the fastest strummer in the West! or should that be North?
Ah. Now. Let me explain............

This was my barber while living in Perth who was also the brother a good friend of mine, he was trying to convince me Hawkwind were good and every time I saw him he said he'd make a tape. This is said tape. Not sure I ever played it! 😂

My chat with the excellent Christopher Slusarenko at the Revolutions Per Movie podcast.
This week I’m joined by author and documentary filmmaker @grantmcphee.bsky.social , who directed three amazing films about the Scottish underground music scenes (Big Gold Dream, The Glasgow School, Teenage Superstars). Listen: shows.acast.com/revolutionsp...
Sorry to hear this. Wishing Bill a speedy recovery! ✊️
Same thing happened to my mum in her mid fifties, thanks to the surgeons, she got through it and recovered pretty quickly. Still living a full life at 82!
