I've collected amiibo since the very beginning, back in 2014. The appeal at the time was that they were official Nintendo figures, that'd work across multiple games.
Now they make $30 & $50 figures that work in one game, that give you access to basic features.
I feel like the point has been lost.

When AI was first emerging, I'll admit I used it to make silly pictures (DALL-E Mini, early Photoshop Gen AI, etc)
The dumb fun part has passed. Now, I'd rather go to an alternate universe where AI doesn't, and won't exist.

Apparently, there are less characters available today on Bluesky. That really sucks, but thankfully it is ONLY for today. I'm not exactly sure why, but I guess it must be a beta test or something. It just seems completely unreasonable, and I think I know exactly why they're doing this. It's because

Look, I get it's another way for car companies to make money... but I now have to pay if I wish to continue using it's mobile app.
Essentially it is now $30 a year just to remote start my car with heating.

I try to use AI as a last resort when creating graphics. I was fine before it existed. In some cases, background extensions are much easier so if I do use it, it's there.
My major exception is that I do use AI upscaling a lot because god damn is that helpful.
