Seeing recent threads from @gravelinfluencer.bsky.social and @bikabout.com about e-bikes (or e-dirt bikes as the case may be), I thought I would throw in my thoughts as a parent of a now-teenager and pre-teen that just moved to a safe place to ride a bike from a not-safe place.

You know, maybe I do miss sitting in traffic heading to work.

Recently Knoxville has been closing Union Ave between Walnut and Gay to make market square more pedestrian friendly on weekends, and in preparation for permanent retractable bollards going in.

It’s also a bit of a social experiment to see who reads signs prior to encountering a barrier.
