Even JJ Abrahms nicked a mono wheeled droid for Star WarsEp IX.
This book is beautiful and a great insight into what was produced, how much thought was behind each location, ship and character design.
Just facinating.

So much artwork was produced. George Lucas used some ideas for Star Wars Ep II and III.
Original version of Queen Amidalas ship becomes Count Douku's ship.
Original designs for cities on Tatoine become cities in Ep II and III.
A flying R2D2 turns up in Ep II.

This fantastic book shows some of the 1000s of artwork produced for the 1st of the prequels.
Phantom Menace is easily the most designed film with the script affecting the art, and the art inturn affecting the script

Great chess match between two veteran Quaterbacks. Joe Flacco, who has only been with the Bengals for 10 days, turns in a brilliant performance.

Editing in another reader with musical intro & exit means it messes with the timing!!
This is the most adapted book with a great BBC Radio adaptation and a Cosgrove Hall (remember them?) animation. Both were great.
This reading by Indira Varma suits this book.

74. Wyrd Sisters, 1988 by Terry Pratchett.
6th Discworld novel and we get 3 witches, a ghost, a king with bloody hands, stage players and a Wizards Staff with knob on the end.
Read this too many times and it's still brilliant. One problem with audiobook is the foot notes🧵

Bears 2-2 Vs Commanders 3-2
Commanders come back in 3rd qtr and take the lead. Just about to run this clock out for a win and the the QB Daniels fumbles the ball!!
Bears take it and win with awake off FG.

Bills look like a defeated team at halftime and don't do much better in the 2nd.
Score doesn't reflect how the Falcons dominated the Bills.

Lions 4-1 Vs Chiefs 2-3
Chiefs are helped by their 12th men and end up with no penalties, with a penalty negating a Lions TD!
Match ended up in a brawl as well.

Looks like Derek Henry has gotten over his fumbles with good performance. Tge rest of the Ravens...not so much. Bad performance by Raven and can't be blamed on Jackson not playing.
Next on the watch list.. hoping the Buccs beat the 49ers

So, this is the Jags that beat the Chiefs last week? Or the Jags from 2 years ago? Cos this performance is closer to the latter! After a strong performance in the last few weeks, we get the old Jags, just not clicking!

Sure I read when it was announced it was gonna be long.
Maybe just expecting/hoping to get the longest adaptation so there would be more to enjoy.

This was the first I heard from the US that came close to what @dirkmaggs.bsky.social was achieving here in the UK with Batman Knightfall, Superman Doomsday and other. I heard the US adaptations of some Star Wars books but nothing at this level.

73 Kingdom Come Audio Adaptation, 1998
Soon there will be an 8hr version but may struggle to top this 3hr audiobook. I bought it in Canada in 2000 and soon wore out the tapes. It's a fantastic adaptation with a full cast.

130 Law Of Tehran (2019)
Crime drama as a police officer goes after a drug kingpin in Iran. A police policedural that is a great slice of life in Iran. Highley reccomended, but I feel the subtitles are very incomplete!

Great 1st half that was even handed until the last qtr when the shutters came down and Pats prevented a comeback.

There is no time to concentrate on just one watergate as another one comes along. For watergate from the breaking to resignation it was 2yrs of near daily front page stories.
If people were reminded everyday of just one bad thing it could end him.
..but then the next thing comes along
