Today we are at Detaillle Island. Lots of fur seals, weddell seals, leopard seals, and Adélie penguins.
Also stopped at an old British base station, which has turned into a museum.
We keep getting very lucky with this weather overall. #antarctica

I did the thing! I made it to continental #Antarctica at Prospect Point on Fish Island(s), and I went down hundreds of feet in the frigid waters of the Southern Ocean in a submersible 🙌🏼.

This morning we’re having 8-9 foot swells only, sunny, the swaying is not too bad. We’re out and about on the boat. Expected to worsen a bit later today/tomorrow am.

Yet one more spectacular day before the next stormy 48 hrs through the Drake passage.
The captain is gonna start pushing through it tonight behind the system, 14 ft swells are still expected but not as windy at 30 knots 🤞🏼🤞🏼.
The boat will be rocking for the next 48 hrs starting around 3 am.
