I and my fellow AGs @agdanrayfield.bsky.social and @ilattygeneral.bsky.social fought tooth and nail over the last six months to end Trump‘s unlawful military occupation of our cities— and we won

When we fight, we win

And when we fight together, we can’t be beat

Trump is a lawless repeat offender who has lost in court on this issue time and time again (we’ve beat him 4 different times in the past year alone), and if he tries again, will lose again

We’ll sue within minutes and we’ll win
Trump again vows to yank funds from sanctuary cities. In S.F., he’d be violating a court order
President Trump declared he would cut off funds to sanctuary cities and states on Feb. 1. A court order in place in San Francisco since April forbids the Trump administration from doing so.

Boom!

Trump broke the law

We sued him yesterday

We blocked his unlawful conduct today

As a result, millions of American children, families, seniors, & disabled will receive the housing, job training, child care, food & emergency assistance they need & Congress granted them

We end the year as we started, by delivering for CA w/yet another win over Trump

Trump lost at the US Supreme Court, so the command of the CA National Guard will be returned to its rightful commander in chief—Governor
Gavin Newsom

In 2026, I’ll continue to hold Trump accountable

No passes
Trump agrees to return control of California’s National Guard to the state
The decision comes in the wake of the Supreme Court’s refusal to allow him to send troops from other states to Chicago.

We’re winning in court over 80% of the time, saving billions of dollars for California, protecting the rights and freedoms of Californians, and preventing Trump’s lawbreaking from hurting our state

And I’m full of energy and ready for whatever comes next in the New Year!
California has sued Trump 52 times this year. Here’s what those suits have accomplished
With little prospect of fending off President Donald Trump’s agenda in Congress or at the ballot box, California has turned to the courts — with considerable success so far.
