“The #InsurrectionAct requires a violent rebellion trying to take over the government that does not exist, doesn't exist in Portland, DC, Chicago, L.A., anywhere. But they like the power that these emergency, laws provide to them…And so they lie about the factual circumstances” - CA AG Bonta to me

Donald Trump:
▪️Publicly berated AG Pam Bondi to go after his political enemies
▪️Appointed his former personal attorney to be U.S. Attorney
▪️And then, within weeks, two of his perceived rivals have been criminally charged

This is a chilling abuse of power taking place before our very eyes

Trump claimed that the federal government would suffer irreparable harm if it was barred from having members of the federalized CA National Guard in Los Angeles

And then Trump voluntarily sent most of those National Guard members out of the state, putting the lie to this claim

While we are handing Trump L after L in court, it’s not about Ws & Ls

Our many & frequent wins are about protecting the rights & freedoms of Californians & Americans, defending federal funding CA is owed ($168B+ & counting), & upholding the rule of law & the U.S. Constitution
Commentary: So much winning. Can Bonta maintain California's legal hot streak against Trump?

Bonta: Just minutes before the hearing, we got word that the Texas National Guard has been federalized.

We asked the judge to issue a broad order — one that applies to every National Guard unit in every state — stating that none of them can be deployed to Oregon.

She issued that order

Trump twice unlawfully deployed the federalized national guard to Portland, & we stopped him

The National Guard is not Trump’s Royal Guard to deploy where he wants, when he wants, for whatever reason he wants

We won’t let him

Of course, it could not be pointed out by the witness, because it doesn’t exist.
