The Suffolk CMR wants to record this VC25 moth (recorded by me as B. adustella) as 'a clear female vittata' on account of the black shoulders. Is this a new criterion? The Suffolk website still firmly says 'gen. det.' Infrequently recorded in the county although I see a lot of 'probables'. #teammoth

A bit worn in the VC25 garden trap, but I think this is a NFY Red-line Quaker. On the store-front were 2 Turnip Moths (only 3 previous records for Suffolk on this date) and a female Winter Moth. #teammoth.

Much to my surprise, 8 moths in the VC25 trap last night and 5 more on the store window. Yellow-line Quaker, Large Yellow Underwing caterpillar, December Moth and 2 very late Double-striped Pugs (only 1 previous record on this date for Suffolk). #teammoth.

I find it very difficult to photograph these little chaps, but this is certainly Phyllonrycter platani/Plane leaf-miner. Not recorded as adults in Suffolk on this date, but I think simply overlooked. On the store window VC25. Only B. adustella in the trap. #teammoth.

For those cold, rainy nights where trapping is not ideal, why not listen about trapping instead!
