Our democracy has always been clunky. It was set up for us to argue in order to find consensus. But that assumes both sides act in good faith. Anyone with common sense should see that one side doesn't want to compromise. I can what-about you all day, but that's not the point is it?

Here's a crazy idea... Let them speak for themselves? Put two or three of them on @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social or something. Let them hide their identity how they choose. Promote the appearance no more than 24hrs in advance to minimize the danger of knuckleheads acting out.

I don't think you need to go back that far. Coming out of the 70s, with Vietnam, Watergate, gas shortages, Americans blamed the government. Until Trump, Reagan was the most destructive president ever. Our problem is, GOP voters are brainwashed idiots.
