Every week I run Time Machine to backup a subfolder of Documents I called Programming for years, I had allowed Optimize Mac Storage to remove Documents from the local disk, but was today-years-old learning Time Machine hadn't been backing up said Programming folder until I chose Keep Downloaded

How private is #Xcode Coding Assistant? #Apple has encouraged #iOSDev to focus on privacy, yet when I seach the documentation developer.apple.com/documentatio... for "privacy" I find nothing.

Q: Does selecting "Locally Hosted" guarantee the model doesn't share your codebase to train their source?

Given tonight's news, you're likely about to be gaslit by disengenous pearl clutching about how they just want non violent debate from brownshirts who believe in none of that. Remind them of this, and that you see through their attempts to put you on defense

#WWDC25 Public service announcement. You're probably feeling sleepy after the Keynote and SoTU. news. All the dev videos being released tonight shouldn't mean a sense of urgency,

They'll be there tomorrow, go veg out. You had a big day.

This only got shown for a moment at #WWDC25, but @valvesoftware.com please bring Steam Link to VisionOS.

Eliminating the Menubar background is one of those design choices I can't believe I'd never imaged before. Makes the whole background look bigger.

#WWDC25 This Games app looks really polished. The Steam and Xbox apps have some of those interesting stats, but not nearly as well designed.

As my confidence in my coding has grown, I wish I could have worn this to a #WWDC in the early 2000’s when Jobs had built a subculture around this ad campaign and the intersection of liberal-arts and technology, but I’m still pumped about whatever today brings.

Q: for #iOSDev that have used #Swift Testing; do you find practical value in .tags? Tags seem only available at the Suite level, doesn't that make the #Xcode Hierarchy vs Tag filter basically redundant if individual Tests can't have multiple contexts?

Is this from it being v1, & wait for Dub-dub?

I've never worked in a field like Indie #iOSDev where I sit down to work, try to warm up with a minor bug I which I assume will take 5 minutes, only for it to take me 3 hours to sew the sweater back together, then start on the messy thing I intended to do that day and that works in minutes.

The $100 a month reward made me literally belly laugh.. Might be worth the cost.

These analysts bet that #TeslaTakeDown has resulted in a 4.7% sales drop.

To others learning #iOSDev I've been at it for years. Assumed I had been humble by dreading that every feature I planned might end up too hard. Woke up today and finished the last of all feature I had dreamed of creating- those doubts had been lies.

All the doubts do is sap your energy; just code

I was so hoping the actor who plays Ricken would read this, in character. Just the first few words in all it’s pomposity made me laugh out loud. This is amazing

Is there a way after upgrading Xcode to use existing Destinations? Upgrading to 16.2 no Run Desitations show until the 8 Gig 18.2 finishes , even changed my phones from Automatic to Always- still have to wait. Does one have to use the old Xcode until the Simulator downloads? #iOSDev #Xcode

So grateful to start my day on the non-algorythmic Mastondon and Bluesky which don't seek to manipulate emotions for engagement (thanks to the Openvibe app for seeing both) and I totally iignore the corination, and just maintain my peace.

Never heard of OpenVibe before this article, I'm blown away, added it to the apps I launch to start my day. It already lets me see Mastondon & Bluesky in a single sequential timeline.

Figured I’d make my first Bluesky post a #iOSDev question, or specifically an #Xcode q, I really love how other IDEs can color-match open and closing curly braces. So intuitive, does anyone know of a setting/extension to add this in Xcode?
