This kind of utter laziness and elite cosiness is precisely how we've got to the position we're in with Reform. Such gratitude is not extended to, say, Polanski who must defend vigorously his views (which is how it should be for all).
What a hideous season
Climbing the racist greasy pole of career success
I had a great time there!
I agree with this so much it hurts
Just awful. Their hardcore fans are deeply unpleasant people.
It doesn't point away from it at all, it was reprisal violence which obviously is also utterly contemptible.
Politicians wading in framing it in pro/anti Israel terms is extraordinarily grim and dangerous. Actually feel sorry for police here when the PM won't take any responsibility for any violence that ensues, he'll just frame it as pro/anti Israel again.
And why on earth is this being framed without mentioning the behaviour of Maccabi Fanatics by media or political outlets? It's bizarre. Like it makes me feel utterly gaslit, frankly. This decision includes multiple angles and a key one is just being ignored.
Great to see politicians deciding to interfere with police operational decisions, hope they take full responsibility when Maccabi Fanatics are shouting their racist slogans on our streets. Sorry to ordinary MTA fans but how can police look at Amsterdam and think "sure let's risk this"?
This for me is another micro example of the weakness of the Tories being the reason we get Reform. They need to become some way sensible, stop trying to out flank Reform, own their mistakes and get in a centre-right leader...except they've purged the vaguely sensible ones haven't they?
The Maccabi Tel Aviv fan base includes really violent and dangerous ultras who helped kick off a riot in Amsterdam.
This is mad - it isn't stopping victims of anti-semitism from going to football, Maccabi will bring a core group of ultra twats who will cause violence. There was a riot in Amsterdam sparked by them. The reaction from locals was awful too. But this is mad to think police should ignore the prospect.
Understood, thank you!
Do you think too much is made of NEETs/youth unemployment?
So we should trust him because he's thick as fuck?
Not only post-pandemic, post financial crisis too with periods of recovery. Heard gov complaints over years about NEETs and alongside govs cutting youth services. It doesn't add up for me I guess.
"too many young people out of work, what will we do?"

Hm.
A dreadful attempt it was
Being on the left and having these debates with people like this is like mashing my face into a wire fence, which is worse sometimes than talking to the 'other' side.
He plays the media game well but he needs to stop doing the cringing swearing thing on social media.
Not if you're Italian (apparently)
This is absolutely fucking grim, what the hell are we doing
This is a fantastic story. Also has to be asked of people why they aren't eating out (supposedly cost) but are paying inflated prices split multiple ways for often average or worse takeaway food.
