At lofty heights, the Tokyo Tree Tower’s shadow stretches out towards Metro Tokyo. Amazing views, 360 degrees. Thankful, though, for the AC . Outside, the summer temps sweltered.

Walking on the shores of the Baltic in Schleswig-Holstein forever etched in my imaginary. The water chilly. My friend unfazed swam earlier in the day. Airport X-ray left its own etching on my photos.

Asked the difference between vernacular photography & found, form vs. function came to mind. Form=media (Polaroid, daguerreotype, etc.). Function=use/interpretation (art, evidence, archival, etc.) 🤔

I had the pleasure of curating the first U.S. exhibition for Tokyo street photographer Kawara Chan, a member of VoidTokyo. The show continues through February 2024 at the Atelier Laforest, Dennysville, Maine.
