Congresswoman Robin Kelly
@robinkelly.house.gov
Proudly serving Illinois' 2nd Congressional District since 2013
I’m going live at 10:30 AM with Mercedes Wells, who was forced to deliver her baby in a car after being discharged while in labor.

I’m introducing legislation to make sure no other mom experiences this pain. Watch live on Facebook: www.facebook.com/reprobinkell...

Thank you to everyone who joined me for today's Social Security and Medicare Town Hall.

My constituents have been my north star since I took office in 2013.

Your questions and stories drive my work in Congress and keep me focused on delivering for our community.

ICE’s detention of pregnant women risks serious injury or even death. This cannot continue.

I led 60 lawmakers in sending a letter to DHS/ICE, demanding that they follow federal regulations protecting pregnant women from detainment and inhumane mistreatment.

Proud to receive the Advancing Good Governance Award from Center Forward presented by Ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt.

Common sense, bipartisan solutions lower costs and help families. I will keep putting progress over politics.

Religious freedom is core to a democracy.

ICE denied clergy access to detained immigrants at the facility in Broadview, violating immigrants’ rights.

I stand with Illinois faith leaders in demanding accountability and the return of spiritual care.

Illinois families are paying $766 more because of President Trump and Republicans. Costs of groceries, gas, and rent keep climbing while working people fall behind. I am fighting his reckless, cost-raising agenda.
November 23, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Trump chose billionaires over families.

His Big Ugly Law makes historic SNAP cuts while millions struggle to put food on the table.

I joined @HouseDemocrats.bsky.social to repeal these cuts and protect kids. No one should go hungry while the rich get richer.

President Trump said that ICE would target the “worst of the worst.”

Only 16 out of 614 detainees were considered high public safety risks and had prior convictions.

President Trump is sowing fear, not facts.

I joined @axios.com Live for a fireside chat on our broken health system—and how to fix it.

We talked about the ACA, Medicaid, ghost networks, and maternal and rural health.

I shared stories from families I represent who just want fair access to care they can trust.

My heart aches for the families impacted by this decision.

Just days before Thanksgiving, parents and loved ones remain detained instead of at home.
This causes real pain and lasting harm; once again the President proves he isn't concerned about We The People.

@replamonica.bsky.social's commitment to her constituents knows no bounds.
Hours after she had surgery to remove uterine fibroids, she was in DC to vote and protect Americans’ healthcare.
A vote too important for Rep. LaMonica McIver to miss
Just hours after surgery for uterine fibroids, the New Jersey Democrat — a target of Trump’s Justice Department — was in Washington to vote last week.

As we mark Transgender Day of Remembrance, court cases continue to target the trans community.

I signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court against a ban on trans kids from playing sports consistent with their gender. Let kids play.
Today, CEC Co-Chair @balint.house.gov, @demwomencaucus.bsky.social Chair @fernandez.house.gov, & Senator @hirono.senate.gov led 130 Members of Congress in filing an amicus brief to the Supreme Court, highlighting how categorical trans sports bans harm ALL girls & urging SCOTUS to #LetKidsPlay!

Medical nutrition therapy saves lives and keeps healthcare costs down.

With Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, I introduced a bipartisan bill to help Medicare cover medical nutrition therapy for more conditions so families can receive the support they need to stay healthy.

Political violence has no place in America.

President Trump's threats against Members of Congress, who have and continue to serve our country with courage and conviction, are despicable. His dangerous rhetoric must stop immediately and be fully condemned.

Happy birthday to our 46th President, Joe Biden!

Thank you for the work you’ve done for the American people. Wishing you a great day with family and friends. 🎉

On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the transgender community members taken too soon by violence.

In their memories, I will always protect trans lives and commit to ending anti-trans violence. Everyone should be able to live freely as who they are.

I have fought for years to make maternal health a national priority. We must support moms before, during, and after labor and close the equity gap for Black moms.

Every baby deserves a strong start, and every family deserves a healthy future.
Today, the U.S. earned a D+ grade for preterm birth for the fourth year in a row.

As a preemie mom, I’m leading the charge in Congress with @robinkelly.house.gov and Rep. Kiggans to designate November as #PrematurityAwarenessMonth and address challenges faced by families of premature infants.
November 20, 2025 at 4:32 AM
SNAP already has strict rules. But Trump's Big Ugly Law adds new barriers that will kick 42 million people off the program—all to hand out a $4.5 trillion tax break to billionaires.

That means more empty cupboards and hungry kids.

I will always prioritize hardworking families over billionaires.

I was with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social when we heard the victorious news that the Senate passed the bill to release the Epstein Files.

This victory belongs to all the survivors who courageously spoke out and victims who could not be here with us.
November 18, 2025 at 11:36 PM
Today I voted to release the Epstein files.
The victims deserve transparency and justice.
The American people deserve the truth.
I will always stand for transparency and accountability.
November 18, 2025 at 8:08 PM
I’m voting today to release the Epstein Files. Anyone who votes “no” votes to protect wealthy pedophiles.

Epstein and everyone tied to him should be held accountable. Victims deserve answers. America deserves the truth.

Release the Epstein Files.

ICE may have reduced its presence in Illinois, but the harm done to our Black and Brown communities remains.

People deserve answers.

When will ICE comply with the judge’s ruling and release those who should already be home with their families?
