Trying out some new transfer paper masking. Seems decent so far, but I’m getting some minor bubbling when post-process sealing. Probably something I’m doing, not a product flaw, but an issue I haven’t worked out yet.

Coasters test, design from Adobe Stock not labeled as AI, but I honestly dunno…

Netflix probably didn’t view a bunch of movies from the 60’s as problematic, but they’re just so rapey…

James Bond walks into a room with a female and loses all ability to function. And of course she’s into it.

Then he forces himself on half the cast & if she objects it’s like “oh you, behave!”

2nd try. Design looks cool, but using blue painter’s tape as a mask left a residue I can’t seem to remove. Going to try to find some low tack transfer paper locally as a masking for paint. Did a little cleanup on the design for V3, still needs more work before this one’s ready

First test run for an acrylic clock. I wasn’t sure how the protective film would react to engraving & ran the power too high. The whole sheet curved during cutting & I snapped it trying to bend it back into shape. A little paint bleed, but overall a successful test

Today I made my very first Etsy sale ever! I couldn’t be more excited!

I thought it was appropriate to send a little thank you note to the buyer, so I included a message laser etched on an aluminum business card blank to show my appreciation.

Getting back into it. Cutting 24 boho earring designs in 1/8” (3mm) black walnut. Total cut time 25:12

Finding inspiration & motivation for design work can be difficult recently, but sometimes it’s a welcome distraction.

Here’s a prototype clock cut in 3mm (1/4”) solid basswood, about 9” (225mm) tall.

Twig-inspired hands need a little more work, but overall cool design I think

It’s been a while, but I’m getting back to it! I thought an earring display stand would help with some photos. I liked this one on Etsy

Couldn’t be happier with how Bigfoot turned out! ~11x8 (284x200mm)

It’s hard to get a good shot of this because it’s so shiny, but I’m really happy with how this Bigfoot silhouette in emerald pearl cast acrylic came out!

I have another in this series with a ponytail & heels, thinking of offering them as a his/hers set or a pair of restroom signs

I think I found the worst possible angle to shoot from, but in other news, in the past 48 hours I also finished 208 business card designs with 0 issues. Great Success!

Abalone inlay test. I forgot my kerf settings so the inlay is smaller than the pocket, but the test here was to get a .25mm pocket in walnut & finding cutting settings for the shell veneer.

I think this is going to work! Next up: programmable wooden business cards with abalone inlay.

Did a little cutting & got them cleaned up, no for some lacquer & hangers and these earrings are ready to sell!

Pretty happy with how this design is compared my out in paduk

Made a new jig & now the alignment is right where I want it, giving consistent & repeatable results.

8 different monogram crests & 4 faces. I might design 4 more faces at some point, but for now I’m pretty happy with these options.

Monogrammed anodized aluminum businesses card test run. The alignment isn’t perfect because I didn’t cut the jig pockets deep enough, but overall I think these turned out great! The 2 in the middle are for a buddy.

Apparently my first attempt to sell things I cut with a laser include photos that are too risqué for Etsy, I’m told.

Fortunately, BlueSky is more comfortable with my highly controversial images of acrylic plant leaves, so… enjoy!
