You know, perhaps resilience lives in this too.

I just published a new piece about an exhibition I visited in Kyiv the other day.

It features works from a Special Secret Storage Fund created in 1937-1939. Art by so-called “enemy of the people"

Yesterday, I sent a letter about my visit to Poltava.
Today, the city was attacked by drones.

My letters don’t just show and keep the beauty of Ukraine.
They reveal what hides behind the words:
“the city that was attacked.”

Thank you to those of you who read.

"Understanding what drives people to wildlife crime is an important step towards finding lasting solutions that do not rely solely on anti-poaching patrols, fines and jail sentences." Helge Denker. A thought-provoking read!

Law enforcement alone will not end wildlife crime
Addressing wildlife crime requires a nuanced, holistic approach that considers why people commit crimes and what incentives and deterrents really work.

Victory (still a cat) doesn't approve of your lack of interest in my posts today.

But we are from Ukraine.
That means we keep doing what we do.
Victory will shine with her beauty.
I’ll keep telling you about Ukraine.

The red patches are getting smaller, while the green is growing! This map compares current vegetation growth (11-20 April) with the same period of time since 2012. Better than average = greener; Worse than average = redder; Average = yellow.

I suggest more people read and learn about Ukrainian IT people fighting for their homes and their families, their future.

This should be interesting for global tech community we were a part of, we still are. Ukraine's IT people are being killed by Russia

The green patches on the map are expanding! This means that veg. is growing more strongly in more areas = bigger patches that are experiencing above-average growth for this time in the season. Note that this is for 11-20 March. The next map ( 21-30 March) should look even better.

If anyone has chosen to follow me in the last few weeks, my apologies. I never post a lot, but February is an especially quiet month for me. I fast from reading fiction, and this year I extended that to social media.

Book #7. Still in January - I'm way behind. I plucked an old fav. from the shelves - High Citadel by Desmond Bagley. I loved the book several decades back and still do. Simple, uncomplicated adventure with no shades of grey.

Well this really is a very different platform to X. Here I post an innocuous comment and get 20+ likes and two friend requests, there I can post whatever I like and generally get nothing. As a thank you, here is a random photo from a pretty obscure museum :-)

I have a few more books to mention from January, but February is always a special month for me. I do an annual February fiction fast. So no novels, no comics, no computer games for the entire month.
