A year before we saw Toyozo with his garage rock outfit The Fadeaways, this time he was back with his more garage punk combo Angel Face who has just released a new LP on Slovenly Recordings.

I think everybody was pleasently surprised by the energy and the attitude of #theundertones when they opened the last day of #funtasticdraculacarnival. This is definitly not another tribute band milkin' their glory days. Catch them live if you can!

I have put this record on after quite some time . It's one of those bands I'd really love to see live. I have seen all its members quite a lot of times with different bands (#thewhitestripes, #queensoftheStoneAge, #TheRaconteurs, #TheKills, #jackwhite) but never with this outfit. Still waitin'.
The film “Let's Get Lost” written & directed by #BruceWebber, captures and presents him through the perspectives of people who knew him, while still preserving the enigma around him. I saw the movie a while ago, but tonight for the first time on the big screen. Let's Get Lost!

In that moment, I was hooked. His singing style (as if he was playing a trumpet) completely captivated me, and that month I bought everything by him that I could find in local shops.
A few days later, I bought the collection *“Embraceable You” from 1957 and heard him sing as well. On it, Chet sings and plays trumpet accompanied by David Wheat on guitar and Russ Savakus on double bass.
The first time I heard Chet Baker I went to the store and bought the CD “Young Chet” with recordings from the years 1955/56.
In an instant, I fell in love with the music, the image and his story.
Today it’s raining, and “Just Walking in the Rain” is spinning on my record player.

Of course, I fell in love with Johnnie Ray through “Just Walking in the Rain” and began to delve deeper into his music with songs like “Yes, Tonight Josephine,” “Cry,” and “Such a Night.” His voice is definetly one of the most unique voices and after all these decades it still sounds fresh to me.
I bought my first Johnnie Ray LP a long time ago, during that short period (really short) when I used to get pocket money from my parents for food and school supplies, but instead spent it on records.

It was a great pleasure to meet and chat with Queens of the Stone Age again.
Also... finally a band that stopped with fake encores!
Emotional, diverse & powerful!
Would do this again.
Thanks Queens!
R.I.P. Connie Francis
I was always fond of Connie Francis and I still am.
Her "Lipstick On Your Collar" is still one of my favorite songs. And it's not the only one.

Eternal classic! Stiv Bators' "It's Cold Outside" [originally by The Choir] with "The Last Year" [his original co-written with Jeff Jones] on it's B-side was released for the first time in 1979 right after he left the Dead Boys.
