Whatever happens on Election Day, I’ll always carry this with me: the privilege to stand up for the people of Virginia House District 90 and cast my vote for a future built on justice, compassion, and community.

It’s hard to describe the feeling of seeing your name printed alongside others who share your love of this Commonwealth. It’s both humbling and empowering — a reminder that every late night, every conversation at the doors, every ounce of faith and perseverance has led to this moment.
Today was one of those full-circle moments.

After years of organizing, advocating, and serving my community — I finally had the opportunity to vote for myself on an actual ballot.
Grateful to @beyer.house.gov for supporting our campaign and the Virginia Value Pack 27, the Democrats taking the fight directly into the 27 most Republican-leaning districts.

Together, we’re keeping GOP incumbents busy defending red seats instead of flipping blue ones.

Va.‘s land mass is ~ 88% rural. As much as 26% of Va.’s population lives in this 88% of Va.‘s land mass. 27 Va. (D) candidates are contesting the 27 (R) held HDs that cover much of this rural Va. area. Democrats live there too.

KABOOM !!! @charlesgaba.com 🔥🔥💥💥🌟🌟🌊🌊

Thank you to the generous, intelligent Democratic donors who just pushed this page past the $108k dollar mark !

The diversity of donations to this group of 27 candidates is an undeniable indicator of grassroots enthusiasm building for the 2025 Va. elections.

Thank you Va. (D) candidates running in the 27 most (R) leaning Va. HDs. 🙏

When @charlesgaba.com created this ActBlue page to offer you some support, our great hope was that each of you might receive $1k or $2k dollars. But, Democratic donors have shocked us.

The story of Black political representation in Virginia is a story of America itself…resilience, perseverance, and progress against all odds.

From Reconstruction to Dr. Fergie Reid in 1968, to my candidacy in 2025, the throughline is clear: progress can be delayed, but never denied.
From Reconstruction to Today: An American Story of Resilience
In 1869, only four years after the Civil War ended, newly freed Black men in Virginia went to the polls and made history.

Virginia’s Democratic campaigns in heavily Republican districts don’t have the big bank balances. They need to spend their scarce campaign cash efficiently & effectively. Billboards build “name recognition” quickly. Cindy Green is running in Va. HD 44.

Let’s fill the chamber, raise our voices, and make it clear: Dr. Ward is the People’s Choice for Vice Mayor.

#RepresentationMatters #ChesapeakeVA #DrEllaWard
This is bigger than one appointment. In a city where African Americans make up nearly 30% of the population, yet lead only 8% of departments, representation matters. Choosing Dr. Ward would be a giant step forward toward building a city government that looks like the community it serves.
We are rallying behind Dr. Ella Ward, a trailblazer who has given 52 years of service to our incredible city and 25 years on the Chesapeake School Board and City Council. She is the most experienced public servant on council and in our city and deserves to be selected as Vice Mayor.
Supporter Shout-Out & Call to Action!

Tomorrow, our City Council has an important discussion about the Vice Mayor vacancy. Let’s show up and make our voices heard:

They’re out panic spending on barn yard signs while we’re building a national grassroots movement under their noses! Lol!
This is grassroots power at work, people coming together, pooling resources, and proving that when we invest in bold, people-powered campaigns, we can flip seats and protect our majority in Richmond.
