Let's be clear what's going on here on both sides of the Atlantic. An open assault is being made on the finances of the most vulnerable in our societies to balance tax cuts or the avoidance of tax increases for the wealthy. This is the stuff revolutions are made of.

There should be a really clever name for that point in your life when everything is so chaotic and dangerous in the world but you can't control any of it so you simply allow stupid to prevail as long as it keeps well out of your way. Words like indifference or apathy just don't seem to do it for me.
