Someone needs to explain to me how a website with the name of my homeland in its title, and with plenty of blue-blooded U.S. funding, chose to accept a junket overseas when there is perfectly good and important racing going on over here. #FollowTheMoney

This is how semi-retirement looks. Back at work this week and next. Then off for two. Then back Christmas week. Then off for three. Then back for Pegasus week. Then off through February. And yes, new podcasts every Friday. It is stop-start hibernation. Geezerdom ain’t all bad.

1️⃣9️⃣ on day 1 this year.

Ridiculous, undisciplined batting coupled with a Perth pitch that demands a please explain.

I make mistakes, too. Boy, do I ever. But this one keeps coming up.

The Los Al Futurity is not a @kentuckyderby.bsky.social championship-series prep. Even if it is a walkover, the winner gets the full 10 points.

The reductions would come only in the 50- and 100-point races and the Lex.

Has it really been 56 years since Gloria kicked Felix out of the house? The show premiered in the fall of 1970, thus this would have been set the year before on Nov. 13, 1969.

Hey, @wdrbnews.bsky.social. What happened to the first 30 seconds of the 4th quarter? The break after the third quarter lasted 3 min 15 sec. I believe it is supposed to be 2 min 45 sec. There was a station in Pittsburgh that oversold NFL games and paid dearly for it. #karma @nflonfox.bsky.social

You know you are old when you remember TV weather reporters writing backward on glass maps.

Honorable mention goes to those roped lavaliers, which are replicated now by the unsightly fur balls posing as modern microphones.
