Last Thursday was National Poetry day, and to mark the occasion Rooks Heath announced our new poets laureate for 2025-26: Malak Year 9, Afnan Year 11, and Reshteen Year 13. Well done to the terrifically talented trio, and to all the lyrically-gifted students who entered poems for the competition.

Once again Rooks Heath hosted a very successful Open Evening. Student guides impressed potential parents and carers with very professional tours, and we were delighted to welcome the new Director of Education for Harrow, Emma Harkin to enjoy the evening with us.

We are extremely proud of some of our Year 8 students who, prior to our Open Evening, helped us visit local primary schools as ambassadors for Rooks Heath. Mrs Manderson and Mrs Lamb were impressed by their confidence and knowledge after only being here for one year.

Over the Summer, six of our current Year 13 students travelled to the Peak District to hike 70km. This was part of the challenge they planned and undertook in order to be awarded funding from The Mark Evison Foundation.

Tesco Stronger Starts!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported Rooks Heath through the Tesco Stronger Starts (blue token) scheme. Rooks Heath scored the most votes and therefore achieved the maximum grant of £1,500 which will be used for the purchase of ingredients for Food students.
