A similar scenario played out in the 2013 FIA elections when David Ward failed to secure enough support to be eligible, thus enabling Jean Todt to run unopposed for a second term.

Funnily enough, at the time, Ward's challenge was seen as a stalking horse for Ben Sulayem... #F1

We saw more shots of Rebecca Donaldson in the Williams garage than Sainz. This is part of the appeal of F1 for some, but missing on-track action like that inherently devalues the TV coverage. #F1

It's no easy job being the director of F1's TV coverage. But the decision not to show Sainz or Alonso's comeback in yesterday's #SingaporeGP on the world feed was bizarre. Especially when one of F1's biggest markets is in Spain, where they are trying to market a brand new race next season. #F1

I get the team wanting to rectify operational mistakes, but I agree that they have to let the drivers get on with it on track. If McLaren review that and think the Norris move was over the limit, they need to drop 'Racing' from their official entry name.

Sainz went under the radar in the #SingaporeGP, but finished in P10 after being disqualified from qualifying.

Williams did the classic 'dash to the end on soft tyres' which has worked for others in the past, and enabled him to pass Hadjar and Tsunoda. #F1

Alonso has a very good point in his radio rants. Hamilton was driving unsafe rather than nursing his car. He's shortcut the track on three occasions in the final two laps and maintained racing speed with an unsafe brake issue. Can't imagine the stewards will take a lenient view. #F1 #SingaporeGP
