as I near 5 years working full-time (which both feels long and short and is crazy), my advice to anyone getting fresh in is try not to burn yourself out or stress out too much about doing your own work.

you will at some point, you just have to roll with the ebb and flow of things.

since making game art my full time job I've definitely stopped doing a lot of personal work. it used to upset me a lot more at the start of my career but as I've got older you kind of can't get upset with yourself too much given you're being creative all week.

the treatment of the course instructors has been awful. this is a resource that should be celebrated for an industry that often doesn't share their practices.

catching up with the news RE CGMA - this is an absolute travesty.

despite nearly being in the industry for 5 years, today I had one of those 'oh shit, what on earth am I doing?' moments where I've completely forgotten how to do anything 3D.

tomorrow is always a new day, and another chance to be a bit more confident.

silksong finally being given a release date is quite surreal. for six years since it's announcement it was the game I mentioned in every interview I was looking forward to. it followed me into my first and then second videogame job, and now I'm closing in on 5 years working in industry.
