Probably the last rosebud of the season: ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’.
We have a brief respite from the rain and the wind has veered to the west, so not quite so chilly.
Whatever your weather, have a good day, take care. 🌱

Moments and Memories, Persica Hybrid and You’re My Everything, Rose of the Year 2025.
A chilly and bright morning - which is lovely. Rain later - not so lovely!
Have a good day everyone, take care. #roses 🌱

Monsoon-like downpours & the gravel paths in this garden are resembling shallow streams. Too easy to feel despondent, will divert myself with pics from late May. Hybrid musk #rose Penelope, laden with bloom.
Have a good day everyone, stay dry. #roses 🌱

Autumn Delight, Lyda & Pax planted bare root last weekend. Ground was soft, while tottering about on my painted-purple walking boards (recycled from panto scenery), felt I was in danger of toppling into the planting holes. The perils of #rose planting!
Have a good #RoseWednesday take care! 🌱

You are My Sunshine, bred by Fryer, and Golden Beauty, bred by Kordes. Both seen at @RHSWisley in June.

First day of meteorological winter and it’s wild, windy and wet.
Not the best pic, but had to record hybrid musk #rose Cornelia’s last hurrah of the season. She’s a trooper!
Have a good week everyone, take care.

Last day of November & meteorological Autumn, which has galloped by. Last blooms of the season from Clementina Carbonieri, Vanessa Bell & Lady of Shalott, all grown in pots. Will cut them back today to encourage them to hibernate for winter.
Have a good day. #roses 🌱

I have used C&K Jones. Good strong plants each time and always good for a chat at a show.

It’s a tough market for traditional magazine publishing. We’re long-term fans of professional editing, photography & print, hence our sponsorship of the GMG Features Photographer Award.
Delighted to present the award to Marianne, have long been an admirer of her work. #gmgawards 🌱

We love browsing images & stories on social media, but we’re big fans of traditional print media too, so it’s a pleasure to again sponsor the Garden Media Guild ‘Features Photographer of the Year’ award.
Good luck to the finalists, hope we get to meet at The Savoy next Friday! 🌱

Here we are, back to Greenwich Mean Time, the light fading as the sun sets before 5pm. Who else, beside me, will still be in the garden, bumbling around as dusk falls? Head torches at the ready!
