Really great. A little antiseptic and thin but it sticks the landing.
Realizing this is my last movie of 34 and feeling the unceasing pull of time and age and how it all passes by so quickly. Our existence is not even a blink of an eye in the grand cosmic scheme of the universe.

Anyway, now seated.

I have a brain parasite that won't stop writing Spongebob Big Guy Pants Ok versions of Train Dreams
[Nick Cave “Train Dreams” voice]
I've been having these crazy dreams
Spongebob Big Guy Pants Ok
I saw a starfish with only one eye
He tripped as he ran for the boat

I'm still stuck on this line because "I've seen a boy who was a dog, he became a man who forgot to die" would be a great line *if* the film hadn't literally shown us the main character seeing a boy with the face of a dog just minutes earlier.

That issue sums up the whole movie.
It’s basically AI Bob Dylan lyrics

“Guy who dreams of trains.
Got the railroad in his head.
He’s gonna have these train dreams
Until he’s good and dead

He’s a logger in the woods
Yeah he laid down the track
He’s looking for his family
But they’re not coming back”

Every line of dialogue in this is either passages from the book or lines like “The way I see it, a man with a life is like a dog with a bone. He’s gotta chew all the way through it before he buries it in the yard”

Does it matter to you at all that the owners have placed their complete confidence and trust in me, and that I have signed a letter of agreement, Charlie Brown? A contract, in which I have accepted that responsibility? Do you have the slightest idea what a "moral and ethical principal" is, Chuck?
Forget it Charlie Brown, it’s Chinatown
I’m not the guy you kill, Charlie Brown. I’m the guy you buy!

I do love that the big finale song of Wicked is “I don’t actually know if you’ve made me a better person, now that i think about it.”

The Oscar clip is gonna be Clooney going “Clark Gable 😃 Jay Kelly 😕 Cary Grant😃 Jay Kelly😕” in the bathroom mirror.
A person’s life is ultimately the sum and consequences of their choices, so what even is “a life” when you’ve spent 35 formative years shielded from the consequences of those choices?
