Hello 👋 Let me introduce myself!

My name is Megan and I'm a solitary witch living in New England. I'm a mother, a nursing student, and the hostess of a website/podcast/channel called 'Round the Cauldron!

⬇ More About Me ⬇
This picture was taken a few days ago -- I can't help but keep staring at it because it's just so pretty. The way the morning sunshine hit the newly-golden leaves on this maple tree uplifted my entire morning 💖

These are just rhetorical questions, of course, because I don't expect any sort of meaningful answer. It just really upsets me and is pushing me toward not just becoming an RN, but becoming a nurse practitioner so I can do something about it... (7/7)

That's right! All you need to do to decrease your risk of bone loss and osteoporosis is lift heavy and lift often -- and heavy is relative. Why is our healthcare system set up to be reactive instead of proactive? Why are we not focusing on prevention, only treatment after the fact? (6/7)
A leading preventable age-related cause of death among elderly women is falls and hip fractures. There is a huge chance that women will get osteoporosis and lose their bone density. Do you know how to prevent osteoporosis and bone density loss? Strength training and load-bearing exercises. (5/7)
Never mind the fact that we aren't taught this in any capacity, at least in the United States. I didn't learn any of this until I was taking college level anatomy and physiology courses and going to nursing school. (4/7)
At that point in screening, the providers are just measuring your risk of a fracture based on your bone density, not your risk of osteoporosis. Do you know how many fractures could potentially be prevented if screening started much earlier? So freakin' many! (3/7)
For example, estrogen plays a vital role in the formation of bone. On average, estrogen levels begin to decrease between 35-45yo. It's not recommended to begin screening for osteoporosis until 65 years old, well after something can be done to decrease the risk of or prevent osteoporosis. (2/7)
A Medical Rant 🤬

I will never stop screaming about how terrible healthcare is for women. I didn't learn until recently just how vital estrogen is to the function of my body -- not just for reproductive health, but for bone health, urinary tract health, and so much more. (1/7)
Longing for the days where I can slow down and reconnect to my practice. I know the physical stuff isn't what makes my craft or faith, but it definitely helps me feel connected.
I can't get any of Microsoft's systems to work on my computer in any browser right now, and that's really hindering my ability to do my schoolwork 😑 I've also tried enrolling in the extended coverage for Windows 10 but it keeps telling me I'm not connected to the internet, but that's wrong 😫
Hmm... support for Windows 10 has stopped, and all of a sudden my computer runs like crap... 🤔 very curious...
I can't be the only one who thinks burnout from witchcraft is weird, right?

Yeah, I've got no real connection with the wider pagan community's use of Meta 😅 but it's definitely hard when that's where everyone seems to be for everything else, too. I hope you've found an alternative for finding models!
There's no way to really describe the feeling you get when someone tells you that you look right at home doing what you're doing 💖
Since Windows is ending support for Windows 10, I think I may try and switch to Linux this weekend. I *think* everything I need will run on Linux, but I need to look into it some more. I know I've talked about switching before, but I just haven't had the time to dig into it more.
It's so frustrating. This is part of why I still have a Meta-related account. That and my Town Office only posts town news on Facebook... 🤦‍♀️
I could never make those aesthetically pleasing "Study With Me" videos. I look like a goblin when I study - papers everywhere, hair a mess, and at least 2 different kinds of drink next to me. & I talk to myself SO MUCH while I study 😂
- whole grain oats
- vanilla plant-based protein powder
- chia seeds
- unsweetened original almond milk
- plain Greek yogurt
- honey
- raspberries
- mixed nuts

Delicious!
I think I found me new favorite breakfast 😋💖 ingredients included below!

Ohh, okay! I'll check it out when I get a chance! I love seeing how other people play!
Haha I do! If I had more time, I'd try to fit in another game lol but it's hard enough showing up to our current sessions - which is hilarious because they're at my house! 😂😂
It's pretty fun! My fiance is the DM and I'm constantly seeing bits and pieces of fun things he wants to do for the party lol you'll have to start another group now that you have more time!
I've never played Pathfinder, and we just started playing D&D last year 😊 but my fiance has always wanted to play. We were finally able to start a group up here, and now we try to meet at least once a month lol
It's nice to get back into blogging, though this is a very low-energy post. I am looking forward to October for many reasons, and one of them is Samhain and Halloween! There's not a lot going on this month, so let's just get into what we DO have coming up.
