Dreamt that I had to put on a one-man stage show involving prop skeletons, but spent the whole dream drafting an email about how I didn't have time to rehearse, and that people pay for PROFESSIONALISM when they walk into this theater

I'm late to the party (as is habitual), but the album "Devil is Fine" by Zeal & Ardor has been a favorite lately.

I'm allowed to post misc thoughts on the internet! I won't be struck down by a mysterious force for doing so! (hopefully)

Every time I'm lucky enough to go to a con, I'm so genuinely floored by the skill and craftsmanship of the furry fandom. You're all incredible

Alrighty, open for business in the artists alley, G27 until 7pm tonight! Come see the world's tiniest table and squint at the tiniest wood slices!

600 dpi scans: great for revealing every piece of dust in your entire home!

...ahem. More pyrography on wood slices, birds this time. In a surprise turn of events, I'll be at MFF this weekend with a whole bunch of these little fellas in tow. Will have more info soon!

Haven't had much to share lately, but this veggie soup with potatoes I grew, plus a yellow beet from a friend, has a pretty delightful palette!

Currently processing a whole bunch of little pyrography scans, some of which are from...three years ago. Truly wouldn't wish creative/artistic burnout on an enemy, it's wild to try to untie this mentally.

Little frog on a wood slice. Dogwood, I think- about 1.75"

Guh, how is ArtFight in 15 days? It aligns with my seasonal job winding down, and I won't be at Anthrocon again this year, so perhaps I can use it to rise like a phoenix from my own ashes or somethin'

Was lucky enough to experience some happy woodland pools the other day. Happiest marsh marigolds I've ever seen!

I do seasonal work merchandising plants (yay!) for a big box store (boo!) and the weather being nice all last week brought all of the customers out of their shells and it's been very cute; a market farmer told me that he usually sells 400lbs of rutabaga in one go to local pasty shops!

Some meditative little pyrography wood slices- a good distraction for me (and hopefully you as well) in these wacky times.

Being a silly magpie and arranging my pea varieties for a photo as I wait for the snow to melt. These plants and their seeds make me so happy. (variety names in the alt text)

Transcribing my 2024 garden notebook and:

1) I cannot spell "occurred"
2) This past year kicked me in the ass so hard, it feels like I'm only really coming out of the funk now. It's sobering and odd to read words that I'd written while in the middle of the mental thicket. Blech.

As far as plants go, this year I bought a bunch of different field peas (peas meant to mature and harvest dry) and scallop/pattypan squashes- mostly because, to be honest, they're so delightful to harvest when 'n if they make it through the season. Good colors and good shapes. c:
