On Thu 15 Jan our Artist Laureate @johnrutter.bsky.social opened our US tour at Orlando's Dr Phillips Center, as we performed the American premieres of his Celebration Overture and Cityscapes, and finished with his Magnificat, featuring the Bach Festival Choir and Clara Rottsolk.

Yesterday we arrived at Orlando's Dr. Phillips Center with our Artist Laureate @johnrutter.bsky.social, who conducted American premieres of his music and as well as his glorious Magnificat with the Bach Festival Choir. Clara Rottsolk also sang Canteloube's charming Chants d'Auvergne 🎶

We were saddened to learn of the recent death of John Wallace, who was Co-Principal Trumpet with the Orchestra from 1974–76. His brilliant musicianship, passion for music education and his kindness were an inspiration to our musicians and to audiences around the world throughout his long career.

👏👏👏 to the City of London Choir and soprano Ailish Tynan for a magnificently soulful performance of Poulenc's Gloria last night at Cadogan Hall, under the baton of Daniel Hyde.

We also performed Lili Boulanger's Psalm 24, Barber's Adagio for Strings and Knoxville 1915, and Debussy's Clair de Lune.

Today we're performing the first concert at the Gaumont State Cinema for nearly 50 years as part of the Kilburn Music Mile Festival.

Yesterday at St Paul's Cathedral @johnrutter.bsky.social conducted the premiere of his I'll Make Me a World with mezzo-soprano Melanie Marshall, baritone Jonathan Brown and The Bach Choir.

We also performed John's The Gift of Life, as well as Vaughan Williams' Symphony No.5.
