A great light has gone out. John Wallace – the brilliant musical polymath who did so much for music education, brass music, and music in Scotland – has sadly died. We were so pleased to present him with RPS Honorary Membership (pictured here) last year.

We are sad to hear of the death of our friend and RPS Honorary Member, Sir Humphrey Burton. Few have done so much to proclaim classical music’s wonders. Through his brilliant TV programmes and vivid insightful writing, he set a gold standard for us all to sustain, engaging millions with music.
