Higher CO2 levels have been increasing tree size in the Amazon, potentially increasing carbon uptake but this may be short lived as larger trees can be more susceptible to climate change intensified heat & drought:

Dry, warm conditions persisted over UK in August 2025 with low river flows, groundwater, reservoir levels & soil moisture leading to #drought impacts; wetter September is alleviating surface water deficit but more sustained rainfall needed to replenish deeper supplies:

None of geoengineering ideas to protect polar regions from

This builds on earlier studies identifying continental drying. Although contribution to sea level from terrestrial water storage decline ramps up (their Fig 4A) this may be dominated by melting of ice since contribution from liquid water is stable since 2015 (Rodell Fig1): doi.org/10.1007/s107...
