Unfortunately, N26 doesn't seem to have a presence on this site. I've yet to contact them about this but I will tomorrow and post anything I hear back.

But it very much appears that addresses in Irish are now non grata.

Keep in mind, this is a perfectly valid address. It's exactly as found on eircode.ie.

The address (in Irish) did pop up for the street over, however.

Out of curiosity, I clicked on it and saw that as soon as I had selected it in Irish, it reverted to the English name in the address field.

The address entry used to just be a free text field, and I entered the address as Gaeilge as I often do.

But this time they've implemented one of those 'your address pops up as you type' kind of systems.

Okay, so I start typing the address again. Not found.

Well the online bank N26 decided it's time for me to verify that my details are still up to date - I have until early December or my account will be suspended. Fair enough, I go in to double check them.

Suddenly, the address that I have registered on my account isn't 'valid' anymore.

I've never looked into the origin of the Irish Saileach but I'd imagine there is a link with Salix - maybe both from a similar root word. And that Salicylic Acid derives from the Latin Salix
