I get really anxious when I want to draw other artists' characters. I worry they'll think I have ulterior motives. If I draw a character, it's because I genuinely like it. But I barely do it because of this
It's incredibly obvious when you're interacting with or making fancontent for someone because you want validation or an "in," and its incredibly offputting.
