😡 disgusting.

Glad they apparently apprehended the person responsible.

I mean i know I’m 55 and cynical but if I didn’t know better I would think there’s something else behind it.

“Protesting” the former Vice President on her book tour as a private citizen is about as comfortable & cushy as it gets. I mean you have to admire their “bravery.”

I bet they didn’t even risk spilling their Starbucks.

The reason why people remember and revere the march across the Edmund Pettus bridge is precisely that fact, the activists knew they were walking into a violent firestorm and did it anyway bc it was everything for the movement.

Courage.

I’m seeing a lot of confusion as to who was president on 1/6/21. It’s very complicated,

You can position your abacus 10 degrees north by northwest when Saturn is aligned with Capricorn….

Or you can just read the 20th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The dystopian hellscape that is Portland.

Kenny got married.
oregonian.com
Outside of Portland's ICE facility last night, Kenny from South Park got married to a unicorn.

The betrothed Portland couple said they decided to get hitched on site to bring some joy and fun to a dark time.

"People can be fun loving people and still protest."

There’s a way around this problem.

Dismiss the indictment.

They know how to do it, they did it to Eric Adams.

A Justice Department memo found that a key witness in the Trump-ordered prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey will actually undermine the entire case.

The Pope gets it.
billkristolbulwark.bsky.social
Pope Leo quotes Hannah Arendt:

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist."

Pope Leo calls for news agencies to stand as bulwark against "post-truths," lies and manipulation
Pope Leo XIV has encouraged international news agencies to stand firm as a bulwark against the "ancient art of lying" and manipulation.

Wondering what’s happened since the government shut down?

You’re all caught up.

Seems like a question for Jake Tapper.

Couldn’t call it unexpected

A rare admission from the administration that policy choices have knock-off effects.

In this case: immigration crackdowns raise your grocery bill.

I think people underrate their 80s work. I’ve always like Grand Designs.

America first apparently means sending $20B to Argentina and permitting Qatar, Hamas’ benefactor, to build a base on U.S. soil.

Great job America.
russellhuegel.bsky.social
But apparently there’s some crazy woman running around signing indictments when she’s not the lawfully appointed U.S. Attorney for the ED of VA.

Hmmm….. I wonder if he’s laying the groundwork for Republicans killing the filibuster and passing their budget?

Remember neither side wants to own that.
atrupar.com
Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "
russellhuegel.bsky.social
You see eventually Trump will make a mockery of every reason or thing you ever said to support him or to justify your vote for him.

Why? Because he’s not well and it’s always about him & only him. And if he wakes up one day & decides that Qatar is going to have a base in Idaho - deal with it.
thetnholler.bsky.social
Nothing says “America First” like letting another country put an Air Force base in Idaho

More tariffs bc they’re working so well.

Fine. Let them pass their own budget. Make them SUSPEND THE RULE on unlimited debate (the filibuster) and pass it with their majorities.
russellhuegel.bsky.social
The the whole point of indicting the NY Attorney General is twofold: 1) payback and 2) to minimize the seriousness of his indictment - everyone gets indicted no big deal.

The result of the case is irrelevant.

And it’s against the rules of professional responsibility.
russellhuegel.bsky.social
Over the time of this whole Trump experience I’ve had various people tell me that couldn’t vote for a Democrat bc they lean libertarian & Democrats want too much government. I don’t know it seems like we’re getting a heavy dose of government - where are they now - or did I misunderstand your Q?
russellhuegel.bsky.social
And…. You’re seeing how a free market economy is incompatible with authoritarian governments bc the government needs you to be afraid all the time & it suppresses the free market.

So yeah… we’re all more conservative than Republicans now - and that’s the problem.
