Here is a tiny glimpse into our recent work: a #pseudotime analysis of wildtype and tumorigenic #Drosophila follicle epithelial cells using #Monocle3. Seeing a bioinformatic prediction that supports our in vivo findings is always my favorite part of the day!

The lab is growing! We welcomed Hannah as a new PhD student and Anna and Lina as Master's students in the lab. I am more than thankful to be working with such a motivated, fun group of researchers!

I give you "Woman dancing with a bird"! This is a monocle analysis of our tumor model which we are currently revising. #SingleCell #Drosophila

Amazing group of people! Thank you for the nice evening!
Update from #EDRC2025! Four days of amazing talks and poster sessions and JEDIs have reconnected across geographical boundaries. Dinner was fun and we are looking forward to everyone at the next #Drosophila conference!

Revision work of our latest #singlecell analysis generates the most peculiar pictures. Well, hello there, little seahorse!

Probably the best meeting I ever attended :)
It is time to appreciate our sponsors for making the last #Drosophila JEDI meeting possible! Thank you!

This would be an incredible disaster to the #Drosophila community. And it sets a frightening sign for the entire scientific community. πŸ§ͺ The fly labs from @unimarburg.bsky.social are trying to organize to tackle this together.
#Drosophila @flybase.bsky.social requires emergency funding:
"As it stands, by the end of July, 2025, there will be no future updates to #FlyBase, and in the worst case scenario access to the website will also be lost". Please help if you can!
We currently have a call for support that has gone out to European labs, to support FlyBase-UK. We are asking our colleagues from labs in the US and other countries to wait for a similar call to them that will go out in the near future, to support the US sites. We thank you for your patience.

That is because those funds are frozen. If you are a member of EDS you should have received an invoice for contribution.

...or just follow the starter pack I just created :) go.bsky.app/PcTGEMc

Apparently we do not have a JEDI starter pack yet.
@fly-jedi.bsky.social
and everyone else: let me know which other Junior European #Drosophila Investigators are missing!

I’ll also tag some JEDI folks that are on Bluesky (maybe everyone can contribute to extent the list because I’ll forget people!)

I see. To my knowledge there weren’t any notes that were made public. My quick summary would be: lots of exciting neuro people, lots of folks leveraging single cell (including us) and an increasing amount of metabolism research. Many of us publish on bioRxiv so that would be the best place to look.

My French is very limited so please excuse that I answer in English :)
Yes, all the reason to be jealous - it was amazing! Rumor has it we may have the next meeting in Portugal, hopefully next year. Maybe a good time to join and find out for yourself…?

Greetings from the @fly-jedi.bsky.social conference in France at beautiful Chateau du Fey! Lots of amazing #Drosophila folks here!
