For Wednesday, Feb 4th: Some light snow showers are possible on and off on Wednesday. This isn't expected to amount to much and some drizzle/freezing drizzle may mix in.

Untreated surfaces may get a little slick in spots but it shouldn't be widespread.

The Extreme Cold Watch has expanded and now includes north central and northeast Nebraska. Wind chills may drop to 30 below zero in the watch area late Thursday into Friday. Hypothermia and frost bite can happen very quickly in conditions like this.

A Snow Squall Warning is in place for Brown, Rock, and Keya Paha counties through noon today. Heavy snow and gusty winds in excess of 35 mph are likely in this area. Visibility will be quickly reduced making travel difficult to impossible. The storm is moving southeast at 30 mph.

A Wind Advisory is in place for much of eastern Nebraska. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for the O'Neill and Sioux City area. And a High Wind Warning is in place for parts of the panhandle.

A Snow Squall Warning is in place for Lancaster, Otoe, and Cass counties through 930pm. This includes the city of Lincoln.

Intense bursts of snow and high wind will lead to quick whiteout conditions and dangerous travel conditions. This storm is moving southeast at 35 mph.

Snow squalls are possible for much of the state Fri into early Sat, with an area through central Neb that is more likely to see them.

Snow squalls are intense bursts of snow/wind that are short in duration. They create whiteouts and rapidly deteriorate road conditions.

Some spots across Nebraska are seeing snow, blowing snow, low visibility, and slick roads. As expected, it's hit and miss, so if you have to travel, be ready for quick bursts of snow and a LOT of wind!

Light snow is falling across parts of the state this Friday morning. With wind gusts out of the northwest at 30 to 60 mph today, this snow will likely be blowing sideways at times. Low visibilities and slick roads are possible through Friday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for parts of northern Nebraska through Friday evening. Wind gusts nearing 65 mph and around an inch of snow will create very difficult travel conditions.

Not a lot of snow is expected Friday, but what snow we get late morning through the afternoon will be blowing sideways. Visibility drops to zero quickly with all this wind and snow showers pushing through. The wind will be out of the northwest at 20-40 mph, gusting up to 60mph.
