After meetings and admin marathons, it’s grounding to come back to the OR, to the craft.

There’s something powerful about seeing yourself as part of a long line of people who do this kind of work.
That sense of meaning and continuity is protective against #burnout.

My granddad was a village blacksmith in northern England.
People brought him their horses, their worries, their stories.

Though I’m the 1st MD in my fam, I like to think I carry on his legacy:
a craftsperson who works with her hands, listens closely, and takes pride in tangible work well done.
