Wouldn't properly say "democratisation of stupidity", it's more of a "death of truth" thing, where social media has killed the concept of authority. In truth, the democratisation of the means of harassment proves itself to be a great tool to quash down any diversity, especially queer.

A new enemy had to be found, one both external and internal, who corrupts and perverts American things and uses it against them. This paranoia, the need for it to be the foresight of something real, turned into pure psychosis during the Trump presidencies, especially after Covid.

There had been a sense of paranoia brewing deep within the American people as the USSR collapsed and the now lone titan started mindlessly swinging his club, bogging itself down in intractable quagmires. This anxiety of an America in decline brought a desperate need to be righteous and justified.
