Wife was curious why fans love Hangman so much ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
There will always be someone mad at something, and it's easy to let that appear that people are mad at everything
January 7, 2026 at 2:53 PM
But yeah, that's not a constant occurrence, but then I think we get a warped perspective to think it's always the case. Some people are just hating constantly for engagement, otherwise it's a case of "you'll never please EVERYONE,"
January 7, 2026 at 2:53 PM
It'd be completely unreasonable for me this time last year demanding Hangman be in that spot

But the day of All In? Yeah, my fandom comes to the forefront and I would've been upset by literally any result other than Hangman walking out of there with the title
January 7, 2026 at 2:53 PM
Like most things, it's situational

Like, I didn't NEED Hangman main eventing and winning the title at All In last year until it got to the point where he was in the finals of the Owen Hart tournament

Yeah, by that point, there's one answer for me, but there's tons of other ways you could've gone

I don't need things to play out exactly like I want, but I do need to be able to enjoy it ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
January 7, 2026 at 2:46 PM
Way too many people in Pro Wrestling, fans, wrestlers, management, and media alike, dismiss almost all criticisms as "they're just mad they didn't get what they wanted"

Which is only the case if "what they wanted" is "something good" ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
January 7, 2026 at 2:46 PM
It's just a huge pet peeve of mine, promoting a title match but then not giving fans that title match is not the purpose of "card subject to change" ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Whenever I see an anime sub/manga purist who *insists* that translations be direct and are staunchly anti-localization, this scene always plays in my head
January 6, 2026 at 2:57 PM
Thing is you could've made that significantly better, you just do exactly what you did only you do Cena vs Rey at SummerSlam instead of the same RAW that Rey won the title, have Punk return to close SummerSlam

Hell, doing Cena/Punk champ v. champ would make more sense for Night of Champions anyway
January 5, 2026 at 3:15 PM
Not the point you're making, but I wish they let them cook for more than 5 minutes

I wanted to see how much mileage they could get out of a show with literally just Trips, Cena, Sheamus, and Punk

And with that, farewell to what I dubbed 5 years ago as:

The man didn't even finish the game

Meanwhile Stafford has the record for 1 yard touchdowns

Dude....you don't even know

NJPW fans might hate Tony Khan more than WWE fans
January 5, 2026 at 12:43 AM
I don't usually let my non-wrestling sports related bitterness out but....

If Drake Maye doesn't win the MVP, then the name of the LA Rams' QB will officially be changed to Statt Padford
January 5, 2026 at 12:39 AM
I mean, it was over either way. If anything having him keep the streak would've been a bit more painful because he'd still be seen as an undead god while barely able to move
January 5, 2026 at 12:37 AM
Hey, we all have one
January 5, 2026 at 12:21 AM
It's not even that
๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
I say this all the time, and people call me a liar and I just respond "you....weren't....there"

But...people legitimately were pushing that someone like *shudders* Ted DiBiase Jr be the one to end the streak
I feel like this is more akin to The Streak having the mega boss take it as part of his legacy and aura.

Poor Kurt Angle put over a young talent too and we see how that turned out.
January 5, 2026 at 12:20 AM
I've seen people complain that Tanahashi didn't go out putting over some young talent, but I just feel like that's a stretch to say the least

I've never been a believer of one win "making" a new star. It's why I didn't think Undertaker's streak should've ever been broken either
January 5, 2026 at 12:00 AM
because it felt like the fans rejecting him which would only push him down the card. That didn't happen, but I also didn't want to see despised heel Hangman Page, which at its core is why "Hangman did nothing wrong" grew so prevalent
January 4, 2026 at 11:58 PM
2 years the first time around was fine because everything he was doing felt like it was progressing a big story

The 3 years until the next reign? That was rough because for a lot of it Hangman felt aimless, like he had nothing going on, and the Swerve feud in the moment hurt
January 4, 2026 at 11:58 PM
This is literally the discourse of those same friends
January 4, 2026 at 11:45 PM
I guess it's because I hang out in different circles, but I see everyone on here post WK going "What's with the sudden Jake Lee hate?" and I'm just like "....sudden?" ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

To quote one person from that circle: "Fuck Jake Lee. He been ass since AJPW"
January 4, 2026 at 11:29 PM
So, just so I'm following, Drew's big plot is to challenge Cody to a 3 stages of hell match, where he has to win 2 falls to become champion, despite failing all this time to even beat him once? ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Assassin's Creed Mirage kind of got slept on but it's geuinely like the best Assassin's Creed game in years, mainly because it FEELS like an Assassin's Creed game from before when they kept trying to "recapture the feeling"
