I agree. Trump believes a devalued dollar would increase the units other countries buy because he doesn't grasp trade. He has also been convinced, IMHO, that a devalued & unstable dollar will push markets to trade in Bitcoin or other crypto, which makes him & hus friends richer & more powerful

Cumulatively the spending power of a dollar has been reduced by approximately 87.3% since 1971. This aligns with the intuitive understanding that if prices have risen nearly 7-fold, the value of a dollar has shrunk dramatically, today’s dollar buys only about 1/8th of what it could in 1971.

That is true. As the world grows, any one nations currency value will shrink to accommodate the increased competition. What is also true is that Trump & Republican policies are collapsing its value
