the plan: tell everyone you're releasing work created entirely by AI but actually painstakingly create every single frame by hand

after incredible pain and trial, I now have my thermostat wirelessly connected to my private mesh vpn so I can control it from anywhere in the world – but without any third party companies or clouds in the middle. woo

I’m deeply curious what people’s perceptions of nyc are outside of those who live here. I feel like it’s wildly different. Been here 12 years, it’s pretty amazing.

I stupidly flashed the wrong firmware to my router and bricked it. But there's an incredible tool that lets you bypass the firmware via ethernet and upload a new firmware. pretty rippin'

bitnami rug pulling the entire k8s ecosystem isn't talked about enough. it's one thing to shift to a new model, it's another to just dunk all existing images out of existence.

@tailscale.com please let me migrate off google as my identity provider. it's a legacy choice from when you only supported them. now I'm stuck with google. please, pretty please.

honestly would be hilarious to create a server only rsc framework. I think that would genuinely get some people converted. then they'd add htmx and find it wonderful. and eventually, they'd rub up against the client component wall and realize "oh right this is why the holistic solution exists"

I published a new piece on @danabra.mov's sidetrail:

"vacuuming the cloud" - autonomy, privacy, and 'the cloud'

sidetrail.app/@saewitz.com...

this will likely turn into a blog post, but this was a good way to think through my thoughts in a less formal manner.

i just walked "check out sidetrail" by @danabra.mov

sidetrail.app/@danabra.mov...

this is really fascinating. it might take place for me as blog "drafts" - I have a lot of scattered thoughts that I'd like to turn into blogs, but haven't found the right medium for before crystalizing them.
check out sidetrail
this is the intro trail i guess
