The declared “purpose” of these tariffs is to drive manufacturing back to the US, allegedly. Unfortunately many manufacturers struggle to fill or maintain open roles. They rely, often on immigrants to get the job done. So….maybe not having ICE deport everyone and stop the bullshit cost for H1B?
